The protected witness codenamed B-3 told the court on Thursday that as a civilian policeman, he investigated the scene of the murders at the Topalovic family home on April 27, 1993.
In the early hours we found two male bodies in front of the house. One was partially incinerated, as well as a section of the house. We did not find wounded people, B-3 told the Sarajevo court.
He said he became sick over what he saw and that he never recovered from it.
B-3 said that, despite difficult working conditions due to the ongoing war, police learned through the investigation that the murders were committed by defendants Zoran Marinic and Zoran Milic.
Marinic and Milic, former members of the Croatian Defence Council, are on trial for allegedly participating in the murders of four Bosniak civilians all members of the Topalovic family – during an attack in Busovaca on April 26, 1993.
They are also accused of inflicting bodily harm and the illegal destruction of property.
Dusko Grubesic, former commander of the Nikola Subic Zrinjski brigade of the Croatian Defence Council, who is Marinics distant cousin, also testified on Thursday.
He said that he was informed about the event and the gross violation of military duties by members of the Croatian Defence Council Zoran Milic and Zoran Marinic.
The trial is set to resume on July 18.
